Chord and Capo Guide for "Last Christmas" by Wham

Lesson #464 • Dec 18, 2022

Description

Hey there, friends! New lesson today where I return to the 1984 classic Last Christmas, this time exploring the various chord & capo combinations at your disposal for playing this song. Of course, you could play the entire song using D-Bm-Em-A, without a capo — but by adding a capo in any of the right places, you can play it using entirely different chords. This is great if you want to avoid barre chords or simply want a different “up the neck” sound that a capo can provide.

Audio Jam Track

As an extra bonus to premium members here on my Song Notes website, I’ve created this 5 minute jam track to help you practice things. This loops over D-Bm-Em-A, played at a slightly slower tempo than what’s heard in Last Christmas. You can use this to practice either the capo & chord combinations I show, or likewise the melody notes I teach in my other lesson (linked below).
