Bouncing Around the Room

by Phish • Lesson #510 • Aug 18, 2023

In this lesson I’ll show you how to strum & sing through Bouncing Around the Room by Phish. This song only uses four beginner-friendly chords, making it quite easy to get going with. There’s a few tricky rhythm aspects in the first part of each verse, but I’ll explain the timing and show a few strumming options.

Note, if you’re looking to learn the end lead guitar licks - I don’t include them in my tutorial, as they’re currently above my pay grade. But! If you’d like to learn those licks, check out this video, which does a great job walking you through things (tabs included).

This is an all-time favorite song of mine, as the recording from A Live One was the first Phish song I ever heard – and I have nothing but fond memories. Almost 25 years later, I’m excited to teach you how to play it. Let’s get into it!
